Over the past few weeks there have been a great number of new developments around Run for the Call. First, thanks to the talents of Nick Kramer, a good friend of our cause, we now have a design for our team t-shirts! On race day, every single one of our runners will be sporting a brand new sport-tek racing shirt (of course they have to give me their sizes first, hint, hint). These shirts are bold and simple, just like our message: “Everyone has a vocation, I’m chasing after mine!” Of course, having team shirts for just the team is no fun, so we’re also ordering cotton/poly blend shirts for all our fans and supporters. The shirts come in all sizes (well, we’re checking on youth sizes right now) and cost $15 a piece. I’ll get an order form up soon.
Secondly, we are now one of the recognized charities of the Piggest Raffle Ever! Each year the Flying Pig Marathon hosts a huge raffle and, on the night of their Pig Out Spaghetti Dinner on May 5th, drop thousands of pigs onto Fountain Square. The person whose pig lands closest to the center of the target wins a 2 year lease on a 2012 Toyota Prius! There are a bunch of other great prizes for runners up, too, so go on over to the Piggest Raffle Ever site and adopt some pigs in the name of Run for the Call. Each pig is just $5 to donate.
Thirdly, here is a flyer for our upcoming young adult Square Dance fundraiser sponsored by Young Adult Groups from the Cincinnati area. Mark your calendars for March 31st and plan to join us. At just $5 per person, which includes food and soft drinks, you can’t beat the price for a night of fun and dancing!
Finally, have you seen our Join the Team page recently?! We now have 35 runners on our team and hope to soon be somewhere near 50! What a huge team! Now all we need is support from you. Go to our donation page and join the cause. Send in your prayer pledges and donations. Together we can truly make an effect on this Archdiocese.
P.S. Speaking of a team of 50, did you hear that is the number of seminarians we are anticipating for next Fall?!
